The Semi-expensive guitars. Tube amps. A drummer with lots of
tattoos. Where do I begin? The Thornbirds were hatched in Hollywood,
CA when Russ Parrish (vocals, guitar) and Darren Leader (drums)
got bored playing disco and wearing afro wigs four nights a
week to pay the rent. Armed with an arsenal of cool songs from
Russ' 8-track recorder and a whole lot of "sack,"
they set off to rock LA. After recording and producing their
first 5-song CD and playing every two weeks at the Coconut Teaszer
to an ever-growing fan base, they were deemed the LA Music Awards
Showcase Best Pop Act out of hundreds of bands. After adding
second guitarist and sex symbol Jimmy Oleson and acquiring bassist
Dean Cameron, it's only a matter of time before they win the
Best Pop Act award for San Bernardino, Barstow, Fontana, and
other Southern California cities. With influences ranging from
The Beatles and Todd Rundgren to old Judas Priest and other
unmentionable hair bands, The Thornbirds have created a 13-song CD
and are currently recording another batch of awesome tunes that
are sure to please any music fan (as long as they are fans of
good music).
Other "Thornbird Accomplishments" include being heard on the Howard Stern radio
program, UnsignedMusicNetwork.com, featured TWICE as "Net Unknowns" on Net Music Countdown,
included in MacAddict Magazine, inexplicably *not* highlighted in Pontiac and mp3.com's
"Vibe Summer Sound Off" competition and chosen as featured band on MusicTourBus.com. To
top these milestones, The Thornbirds plan to collectively run for President(s) of the
United States in 2004.
Are
you tired of the same old corporate rock? Do you feel cheated
when you pay seventeen bucks for a CD with only one or two decent
tracks on it? The Thornbirds understand your plight. The Thornbirds understand
that in order to make a great record, you have to have great
songs. It is with this in mind that The Thornbirds set out to rock
the Coconut Teaszer, and it is why The Thornbirds are destined to
rock the world.
Because after all, the world is just one big Coconut Teaszer,
right?
